About WAPHC

The Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council (WAPHC), is currently composed of nine (9) Graduate Chapters of the following International Greek letter Sororities and Fraternities: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

WAPHC promotes interaction through forums, meetings, and other mediums for the exchange of information and engage in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions. Furthermore, we contribute thousands of dollars towards scholarships and service as well as thousands of volunteer hours to the local and global communities.

Packing Our Youth with U.N.I.T.Y.

The Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council is hosting its seventh Annual Unity Picnic.  We invite you to collaborate with us in “Packing Our Youth with U.N.I.T.Y. Using our own Networks In Training our Youth”, to be held at the Walton Park Recreation Center on Saturday, July 27, 2024, 12:00pm. – 2:00 p.m.  This program focuses on exposing our youth to the “Divine 9” International Greek letter Fraternities and Sororities in the Wiregrass Community.  Your organization will partner with us and other groups that share a desire to empower our community to work toward more positive outcomes for our young people.  We request that you or your organization make a donation as follows:

  • Platinum       $250 or more
  •  Pearl              $100 or more
  •  Gold               $50 or more
  • Supporter     $49 or less

Your tax deductible donation will go towards the purchase of backpacks, and gift cards.

You will need to send the name of the donor to [email protected].
Payment can be via check or money order made payable to WAPHC.

Kentucky Derby Day Party Fundraiser

The Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council Held it’s Inaugural Derby Day Party on May 4, 2024 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens. Money raised from the event will be used to purchase school supplies and backpacks for area children to be given away during the summer before school starts.

Wiregrass Pan-Hellenic Council Seeing Purple

On Friday, December 22, 2023, the Wiregrass Pan-Hellenic Council orchestrated a special event at the AMC Classic Dothan 6 in Dothan, Alabama. They rented out the entire movie theater for a screening of the iconic film “The Color Purple” at 6:30 p.m. What made this event particularly unique was their initiative to sell all the tickets exclusively through their organization. This allowed them to create a vibrant community experience while supporting their cause or organization.

National Pan-Hellenic Council Leadership Conference 2023

Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council were represented at the National Pan-Hellenic Council Leadership Conference (NPHC) held in Chicago, Illinois from Oct 26th – Oct 29th, 2023.
Graduate and undergraduate leaders of the Divine-Nine fraternities and sororities traveled from around the country to engage, empower, and fellowship with one another to connect with purpose and impact! We all look forward to sharing the insights gained when we return to our respective communities.

WAPHC met with CEO of Southeast Health

On Tuesday Oct. 17, 2023, Rick Sutton, CEO of Southeast Health met with members of the Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council, Wiregrass Area – National Pan Hellenic Council to share updates and to exchange ideas for opportunities to collaborate.

Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council 2023 Backpack and School Supply Give Away

The Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council held it’s Annual Backpack and School Supply Giveaway.  On July 29, 2029, Members of the Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic council met at Walton Park in Dothan, Alabama and gave away FREE clear backpacks, pencils, folders, paper, and other school supplies to members of the community.

The Pan-Hellenic Council is comprised of the Divine 9 or the 9 African American Greek letter organizations.  The Divine Nine includes Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity!!!!

WPHC participate in Enterprise Back To School Bash

Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council Participate in Juneteenth Celebration Parade

On June 3, 2023 the Wiregrass Pan-Hellenic Council participated in the Annual June Teenth Celebration Parade in Dothan, Alabama.  The parade is one part of an all day event to kick off June and the celebration of Juneteenth.  June 19, 1965 was the day that Gen. Gordon Granger presented to the people of Texas, General order No. 3, which was is a proclamation from the executive of the United States, proclaiming that “all slaves are free.”  The event is put on by the Tri-State Expo Juneteenth Affairs, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.

Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council Chartered with Nationals

On May 24, 2023 the Wiregrass Pan-Hellenic Council held it’s Chartering Ceremony with the National Pan-Hellenic Council via Zoom.  The official chartering date is August 18, 2022 when we became financial with Nationals under the Presidency of Mackroyce L. Corbitt, Jr. and the hard work of Dr. Jerlyn McCleod, MD and other members of the organization.

The Divine Nine Program at Johns Chapel AME Church

At 2:00 p.m. on February 26, 2023 at Johns Chapel A.M.C. Church in Enterprise, members of the Divine nine attended the first program spotlighting the Divine Nine and the Pan-Hellenic Council.  The Theme was “Meeting the Challenges of Our Communities.”  The guest preacher was Rev. Darryl Roberts, Pastor of Greater Beulah Missionary Baptist Church and Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  Members of the Wiregrass Pan-Hellenic Council and the Divine Nine represented well.  

WAPHC Supporting Youth on Trip to Tuskegee University

Members of the Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council attended to help send the kids off with high five and cheers along with other members of the community.  This is a wonderful opportunity for it is possibly the first time some of the students have ever visited a college and especially a HBCU or Historically Black College and University.
